The Second Leg of the SW Coast Trail

Today, 1 November 2021, I've started the second leg of the SouthWest Coast Trail - Weymouth to Exmouth. I took the train down to Weymouth which was blissfully uneventful. I had some nice snacks on the train. I didn't realize that there were deer farms near Southampton. I had to take a bus for a portion of the journey - this was a bit awkward as wasn't sure which bus, but it all turns out well.
The old castle hotel wasn't too exciting, but was warm and dry. Lots of instructions about not going into the bar when the lights are off, as the burglar alarm was turned on at night. Not sure if it was to keep buglers out, or guests from raiding the alcohol at the bar when no one was around:)
Weymouth has an interesting history - lots of pirate stories. They even had deep-fried mars bars and Cadbury eggs. They have a haunted castle and I saw the cannon ball in the wall from 1640.
There was still one cruise ship in the harbor which was lite up at night.
