The Grand Hotel in Swanage was really wonderful until breakfast which was really uninspiring, so can understand why the number of stars is rather low here. The day was sunny hot and humid again. We started out going by the sea on the towns seaside promenade and stoped at the WW2 memorial. All of this area has WW2 importance. On the way out of town we stopped for a fortune from Zoltan - also rather uninspiring fortune as I recall. The whole day was a coastal walk along the cliffs.
Durlston Castle is a local tourist information center and sculpture garden. It also has an exhibit showing how the Earth changed through time and the different earth layers. Not long outside of the Castle, it was if we were at war with the sound of a barrage. It came from the military base near Lulworth and was amazingly loud.
Further on we started to see mining caves, now closed to the public. This is where limestone mining took place. There were some beautiful coves along the way and a pretty lighthouse at Anvil Point. There was also an interesting geological area which resulted in an interesting wave configuration.
We ended the day with very sore feet at Kimmeridge where we called a taxi to take us to The Bear Hotel in Wareham. This was a wonderful B&B that was pub-like and had a wonderful dinner and a good night's rest.
