Returning to Florida from our National Park Experience
October 1 and 2, 2026 - we returned home from Bozeman, Montana.
1st - We left the Tetons
and drove 4 hours from Teton Village - through Idaho - to Bozeman. You can see from this map how we made a clockwise circle during this trip.

We stopped for lunch at a diner with a working soda fountain. This is potato and hamburger soup and a tuna salad. I had a malted milk for dessert and this was a good malt.
We stopped by a place the Rock Creek Campgroud along the Madison River which was the site of a terrible earthquake, landslide and flood. This happened at night and killed all of the people in the full campground.

Back to another Hampton Inn
Up early at 4am to catch our 6:30 flight which was, thankfully, uneventful.
It's never too early for champagne and the bathrooms in the lounge had the Japanese Toto toilets (if you know, you know:).
Net net-
Favorite park: Mt. Rainier me - Chris Yellowstone
Least favorite - Grand Teton
Best part: saw big 5 - elk, deer, moose, prong horn, bear
Worst part (besides that dinner at Jenny Lake) - the National Park Service stopped selling Bunis
but I found some locally, so now buni has a whole family to share her adventures with.

Will we go back? Yes, but....
Mount Rainier - only if the other side of the park is open
Yellowstone - only if we go camping for a long weekend (and not during a major public holiday).
The next few adventures will be diving - stay tuned in a couple weeks for more.
