Eleven.five mile walk up to Pen Twyn Mawr. Started at The Church of St. Issui originally built in 1060. As I was walking uphill (pretty steep) I saw this greenish bird with a red/orange chin/tummy. Don't know what it was, but have asked in FaceBook to see if anyone else knows. Finally. made it up to the trig point at the top of what seemed to be a high hill (can't seem to find the name of the place where it is stationed) and then saw that I was only 2 miles into the walk and had much further to go. Was exhausted. Luckily conditions were quite dry as there were lots of areas of dry bog along the way, but finally made it to the summit. After the first hill, everything else was rather easy. Saw what looked like wild horses along the way. Actual summit was anti-climactic - no trig point, only a carn. Rain looked very close and put on rain gear - tops and bottoms - but it didn't materialize until the last 15 minutes of the hike, so was over dressed for the second half of the hike. Things got rather cold, so was glad for the extra layer. Along the way down saw a herd of wild horses with colts. End of hike was a steep down along the fields with grazing sheep and lambs. Lambs do binkies too!
