Going to Torquay and Fawlty Towers

On Thursday November 18 we were off to Torquay - the home of Fawlty Towers and watched several episodes once we arrived. Outside filming for the series was the Gleneagles Hotel. It was a mile uphill and out of our way, so we didn't go to see it:)

We were finally away from the train lines and found some beautiful local ponies who were very friendly. We also saw some seals. I think one of them thought I had something to eat. Coming into the city of Torquay we were favorably impressed by the beautiful houses and amazed that the city was so up-scale.

This was a strenuous 11 mile day and we stayed at the Hampton Inn. That evening we had dinner at a local family owned restaurant called Amici's and had champagne to celebrate making it to Torquay.
