Croghan Kinsella Windfarm

An interesting area from a historical perspective, a short hike (5 miles) which had nice vistas - had the weather been better. Weather was a perfect for hiking - low temperature with a lot of wind.

Historically, this area is known for violent evictions (including a murder) in 1887. Somewhere there is an eviction stone which we never did see. The 108 tenants on the Brooke Estate struggled “to make ends meat” while paying such totally unjustified rents.
Captain Hamilton was the agent for the Brooke Estate and created the "crowbar brigade" to evict the farmers who couldn't pay. John Kinsella was actually killed during the evictions.
