Leaving Old and New Friends and Returning Home

19 July, 2026 - Today we parted company as the rest of the group goes on to Tralee and I returned home.

There was a bit of an interesting moment when the van couldn’t quite hold all the luggage. Thankfully, the group only has to make it as far as Tralee. That said, the luggage will probably weigh more in a week.

Meanwhile I took the bus from Lahinch back to Shannon airport via Ennis.

and then onward

to Shannon Airport

I was able to spend about an hour in the Priority + Lounge due to my overpriced credit card and had a bit of champagne while waiting - toasting absent friends and family

Then getting a middle seat on a very crowded 1 hour flight to LHR

and tried to find my bus back to Woking to catch the train back home.

a very well timed and uneventfully return journey.

Thanks to Lisa for organizing the trip. I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones!

Now it's off to Florida until it's time for my next adventures in August.
