From the itinerary: Fernandina Island: Espinosa Point / Isabela Island: Vicente Roca Point

Up with the sun again. The volcano was sleeping.
With a nice breakfast of fruit, scrambled egg, and French toast.
I decided to take the morning off and lounge on the upper deck while everyone else saw Espinoza Point. I enjoyed a quiet, breezy and enjoyable 2 hours alone.
Turns out this was ok. One woman fell on the slippery stairs, it was hot and there wasnt anything I hadn’t seen before.

Snorkeling, although not too clear, was great. There was a lot of interaction with the undersea life, like sea lions racing towards me and turning at the last minute
There were many turtles that floated by
There were many swimming iguana, one of which swam directly under me.
We also saw several instances of the sea lions playing with the iguana tails
and sea lions playing with a turtle
rays
starfish...
anemones

Lunch was soup and chicken with pineapple dessert.
After lunch another snorkel activity in very deep water (which was very cold). This was amazing because we saw 2 sunfish.
We also saw a bull fur sea lion that vocalized and I tried frantically to back away so I wasn’t attacked. A lot of parrot fish and turtles (no photos).
After snorkeling we had a zodiac ride along the coast where we saw more penguins
blue footed boobies

And flightless cormorants

Fantastic Frigate Birds
and Brown Noddies

as we went into a cave area
and marine iguanas hanging out, sometimes with some crabs
we started to see fur sea lions
And just beautiful views of the island and lava dikes
We left for the evening and crossed the equator
and had an amazing sighting of an orca
The scenery was beautiful and a bit like Isla Nibla in Jurassic Park and we cruised by rounded rock in the distance....
And a beautiful sun set.
